Herb Detox Tea
Our bodies are self-detoxing begins and detox themselves naturally, however due to poor diet, lifestyle or illness the body’s ability to detox naturally may become congested and this may allow toxins to build up in the body. Packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, this high quality herbal detox tea can help support the body’s own natural daily process of detoxification.
Ingredients in this herbal blend are Green Tea, Dandelion, Burdock, Senna Leaf, Cleavers, Red Clover and Lemon Peel.
Below are some of the traditional uses by herbalist’s of the herbs in this blend:
Green Tea: Green tea doesn’t actively detox toxins all on its own, but it’s packed with natural polyphenols that support the body’s normal detox system. Polyphenols work in two ways: they have a direct impact on your liver, the body’s major detox organ, and they’re antioxidants that fight free radicals. The molecules known as free radicals are so unstable they must be neutralized before they damage healthy cells.
Dandelion: Dandelion leaves are an important part of a detox because of their diuretic action, and unique because they do not leach out potassium, an important electrolyte mineral. The nutritious leaves are a good source of vitamins A, B, C and zinc. Although dandelion can be bitter, it’s the bitterness that helps to stimulate the liver and gallbladder, thereby improving digestion.
Burdock: Burdock is an incredible blood cleanser and loaded with detoxifying nutrients, such as folic acid, vitamins C, E and magnesium. Burdock is also a diuretic, helping to expel toxic build-up in your blood and eliminate it through your urine. It has a very strong affinity for the lymphatic system and liver and works extremely well to eliminate toxins. Burdock is also great for supporting the adrenals, helping to balance blood sugar. It also contains antimicrobial compounds.
Senna Leaf: Senna tea is prepared from the Senna leaves. This tea improves digestive health and has the ability to work as a natural laxative making sure the bowels are eliminating effectively so toxins can be expelled from the body.
Cleavers: Detoxing and cleansing the lymph system is one of the best ways to restore energy and cleavers does it very well. Known as one of the “blood cleansing herbs”, cleavers is also diuretic, flushing various toxins from the body through the urine. Cleavers is also, of course, a fantastic lymph tonic. When the body becomes backed up with toxins from our diets and environment, it leads to poor lymph drainage.
Red Clover: Red clover is incredible for cleansing the blood. The flowers have the ability to carry waste out of the bloodstream, making this herb a valuable part of a detoxification protocol. Red clover is also a powerful tonic, helping to assist in toxin breakdown within the lymphatic system. Its expectorant properties are also great for individuals needing lung support.
Lemon Peel: As well as adding some flavour, Lemon is an important component of a number of body cleansing regiments throughout the body. Lemon is an excellent adjunct to liver cleansing. The natural cleansing qualities of lemon help reduce harmful bacteria.
